So, what does Integrative Therapy mean?

People are beautifully, wonderfully, incredibly diverse. In all my lengthy travels around the worlds of emotional, physical and mental wellbeing - in my own personal journey and supporting others in theirs - one of the key things I’ve learned is:

One size definitely does not fit all. â€‹

There is no pre-written manual for the business of navigating this life as the being that is uniquely you...

...and, if you've been around long enough you will probably have learned this too.

My therapeutic practice draws on a range of modalities that combine to form a broad, cohesive, holistic and flexible framework that is unique to each person. This is why I describe my therapeutic approach as Integrative.

I work across a combination of techniques, processes and disciplines - NLP, hypnotherapy, coaching, mindfulness, EFT, somatic practices, developmental psychology, polyvagal theory and neuroscience. My work is designed to support you to move forward whilst also addressing the emotional blocks that prevent progress.

Integrative Therapy

A Holistic Framework

There are many incredibly powerful therapeutic modalities out there that may resonate well with you.

Each form usually aligns most significantly with one of 3 frameworks of experience:

1 - Past, Present and Future

Our past experiences, how they inform our present experience and our feelings about the future.

2 - Body, Mind and Emotion

Our somatic (body based) experiences, the habits and patterns of our thoughts, feelings and reactions.

3 - Conscious and Unconscious

The drives and influences that we are aware of as we meet the world, and those that lie beneath the surface of awareness - our automated patterns.

An integrative approach has the flexibility to engage with all three frameworks. In my work with you, we explore together how your experience shows up in the body, in the mind, or in the emotional layer. We gently uncover the stories and belief systems that underpin your world view and we use what we discover to begin to navigate the journey of fundamental change.

Two Kinds of Change

In our work together, we will come across 2 ways of changing:

1. Translational Change - comes from learning tools and strategies to manage difficult times, to regulate nervous system in stress or activation, to build a stronger sense of safety and capacity in the body system.

2. Transformational Change - comes with getting to the cause of an issue and supporting ourselves to really engage with the deeper healing work that allows everything else to shift and recalibrate. This more fundamental level of change comes more easily to us when we have some translational change tools and strategies to keep us feeling resourced and safe as we transition into new ways of being in the world.

This is gentle, deep, brave work. Held with compassion, kindness, mutual trust and unconditional positive regard.

This is about your evolution.
